Youth perspectives for Macedonia’s EU integration

On the occasion of the official visit of the German Minister of State for Europe, Michael Roth, Friedrich Ebert Foundation - Skopje office and CIVIL - Center for Freedom organized a panel discussion on the subject matter "Youth Perspectives on Macedonia's EU Integration".

The event was held on 24.07.2018 (Tuesday) at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje, and among the many young people who took part in the discussion were the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Nikola Dimitrov, as well as Bojan Maricic, Special Adviser for Euro-Atlantic integrations to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia.

During the discussion, representatives of youth organizations in Macedonia, as well as other participants, shared their ideas and views on the country's Euro-integration processes and developed a thorough discussion based on the topic:

How will an EU membership contribute to the promotion of young people's opportunities in the country in terms of education, employment, dealing with crime and corruption, inclusion and participation in democratic processes at national and local levels?

As part of his speech, the State Minister for Europe of Germany, Michael Roth stressed that Macedonia is facing important events that will depend on the country's future progress, and that is why young people need to be the leading carriers of such decisions.
