"Back to the Future"

The Friedrich Ebert Foundation – Skopje office, in collaboration with the Forum for Reasonable Policies and the Center for Education and Art – Hana, organized the event "Back to the Future" this weekend at the creative center "Brutalisk" in Skopje.

The event brought together renowned and eminent mentors with 40 high school students from various cities across the country to creatively express young people's perspectives through videos, graffiti, music, and clothing.

Participants were divided into four groups, with mentors Emilia Ristanovska from the Center for Education and Art – Hana and Gordan Georgiev from the Forum for Reasonable Policies assisting the high school students in understanding art as a response to societal and political events throughout history.

Through creative stations, the high school students were educated about the importance of support and positive words as values to believe in, and the necessity of avoiding bullying, a common occurrence among the youth. By creating music, multimedia, graffiti, and activism through clothing, the event aimed to raise awareness about bullying, human rights and freedoms, women's rights, and the empowerment of individuality.

The trainers included the renowned visual artist, illustrator, graphic designer, and DJ Goran Kostovski-Indog; musician and drummer Martina Barakoska; graphic artist, comic book creator, and one of the most creative rappers in the contemporary Macedonian music scene, Antonio Arangelović (Tonio San); and graphic designer Teodor Petrovski.
