Constructive politics

Strengthening democracy and creating constructive policies of citizen interest through dialogue with key state actors is the theme of the first event within the initiative „Constructive Policy“, which took place on April 25 in Skopje. The event was organized by the Sustainable Inclusive Growth Association (SIGA), Friends of Europe and the Friedrich Ebert and Konrad Adenauer Foundations.

Nita Starova, the Project Coordinator of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation - Skopje, highlighted that the advantage of democratic governance lies in political pluralism.

"The advantage of the democratic organization of a society is political pluralism that enables the presentation and expression of different political and ideological groups, but at the same time democracy also entails nurturing a culture of dialogue and debate on different ideological positions and viewpoints, especially when it comes to topics that are of substance and affect all citizens in society, as is the case with the topic we discuss today - building an efficient model for funding public health. Together with the Kondrad Adenauer Foundation we decided to support SIGA's initiative for implementing the constructive policy model, because we believe that only through dialogue and constructive debate can citizen’s confidence in the political processes be restored," Starova said.
