Skopje Hosted the First Regional Feminist Festival “One World, One Struggle”

From 19 to 21 September 2025, the first regional feminist festival “One World, One Struggle” was held in Skopje, organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation – Skopje Office. The festival brought together artists, activists, and citizens around a shared message of gender equality, solidarity, and social justice.

Over the three festival days, audiences had the opportunity to attend a rich program held at several locations across the city – the Macedonian National Theatre, Javna Soba, and the City Park – featuring theatre performances, music events, exhibitions, art installations, and performances.

The festival opened with the theatre play “Girls”, directed by Milena Bogavac, followed by a diverse artistic program featuring authors and performers from North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Slovenia, Albania, Ukraine, Switzerland, and Iran. The final day, held in the City Park, was dedicated to an open program for all generations, with music performances, artistic interventions, and active audience participation.

The festival “One World, One Struggle” highlighted the importance of feminism as a struggle for dignity, freedom, and equal opportunities for all. Through art, the festival created space for dialogue, solidarity, and a shared vision of a more just, open, and humane society.
